Wedding Spotlight: Natalie and Terry
From neighbors to friends to happy ever after.
For Natalie and Terry, their story began simply—just two neighbors who became friends. Neither was looking for romance, but as their bond grew, Terry became a big part of Natalie’s kids’ lives, and earlier this year, he proposed, turning their wedding into an intimate celebration filled with joy and close family.

As they started planning, they knew their big day—and the wedding venue— had to feel like them. With both having deep roots in Memphis (Terry even grew up downtown), it was essential to find an event venue with that authentic Memphis vibe. They also wanted an outdoor ceremony to soak in the views but needed an indoor reception space to stay cool from the Memphis heat. No.2 Vance offered the best of both worlds. “We fell in love with the exposed brick and how it feels both modern and original,” Natalie shares. “And we loved that the building is right on the river.”

For their outdoor ceremony, they rented Cutbank Bluff at Tom Lee Park—a beautiful overlook that’s available to rent for private events through the park website. With simple seating on the lawn and a custom arbor framing the river view, the setup was both relaxed and stunning. The flexibility of No.2 Vance was one of its biggest draws for Natalie and Terry. “You get a ton of freedom to do things your way,” Natalie explains. They chose a layout that felt just right for them—round tables for guests, a family-style table for themselves and close family, and a bistro table for the cake. With exposed brick, large windows, and an open floor plan, the venue offered the perfect canvas to make it uniquely theirs.

For catering, they brought in their favorite East Memphis restaurant, Salsa. “We go there all the time,” Natalie says. “They gave us a great rate, and who doesn’t love chips, guac, queso, and fajitas?” The freedom to choose their own vendors allowed them to infuse personal touches that gave the day a fun, laid-back vibe.

The team at No.2 Vance also made a big impact. “Josh was fantastic—down-to-earth, helpful, and made everything so easy for us,” Natalie says. “From that first call, I knew we’d found the right place.” His support made planning smooth and straightforward, and on the day of, he was there to ensure everything went off without a hitch.
